Chapter 15 - The Boss’s Only Queen|

One year later, the grand cathedral in the heart of the city was filled with hundreds of dignitaries, business tycoons, and high-society elites.

There were no whispered rumors, no hidden threats, and no shadowy underworld figures lurking in the corners.

The Ramos syndicate had been completely reorganized into legitimate corporate enterprises, its dark past buried forever under lawful trade and philanthropy.

District Attorney Vance was serving thirty years in a federal penitentiary for high treason.

Julianna had vanished into complete social exile, stripped of her wealth and banished to an obscure life abroad.

Today, the entire city had gathered for only one reason: to witness the real wedding of Diego Ramos.

At the front of the altar stood Diego, looking breathtaking in an immaculate black tuxedo.

His gaze was fixed entirely on the massive wooden doors at the back of the cathedral.

Beside him stood Luca, holding a cheerful, chubby one-year-old boy in a matching miniature tuxedo.

Little Mateo clapped his tiny hands together, giggling as the grand pipe organ swelled with the first majestic notes of the bridal march.

The double doors swung open wide.

Every single person in the cathedral stood up, turning their heads to look down the flower-lined aisle.

Nelia appeared beneath the arch of white roses, and Diego’s breath caught in his throat.

She was ethereal.

She wore a breathtaking, custom-made gown of ivory silk and lace that hugged her curves and flowed into a ten-foot royal train.

Her diamond earrings caught the stained-glass sunlight, but her radiant, joyful smile outshone every jewel in the world.

She walked down the aisle with absolute grace, her head held high, carrying herself like the true queen she was born to be.

She wasn't the tired, invisible waitress hiding behind a stained black apron anymore.

She was the center of Diego’s universe.

When she reached the steps of the altar, Diego stepped down to meet her, taking her gloved hands into his own.

His hands were steady, but his dark eyes were shining with overwhelming love and devotion.

“You are the most beautiful vision I have ever seen,” Diego whispered for her ears alone.

“And you are finally home where you belong,” Nelia answered softly, her heart overflowing with pure joy.

The priest cleared his throat, beginning the holy ceremony that would bind their souls together before God and the entire city.

When the time came for the vows, Diego did not read from a prepared script.

He looked straight into Nelia’s eyes, speaking from the depths of his transformed heart.

“I spent my life building an empire of shadows, believing power was the only thing that could keep me safe,” Diego declared, his voice carrying clearly to every corner of the cathedral.

“I was a fool who almost lost the only treasure that ever truly mattered.”

“You are my sanctuary, Nelia.”

“You are my salvation, my only love, and my eternal queen.”

“I vow to protect you, cherish you, and worship you until my last breath on this earth.”

Tears of unadulterated happiness slipped down Nelia’s cheeks as she spoke her own vows of enduring love, forgiveness, and eternal faith.

Diego slipped an exquisite platinum ring featuring a flawless ten-carat emerald-cut diamond onto her finger.

“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the priest announced with a joyful smile.

“You may kiss your bride.”

Diego didn't hesitate for a single second.

He wrapped his strong arms around her waist, lifting her slightly off her feet as he brought his lips down onto hers in a passionate, breathtaking kiss.

The entire cathedral erupted into thunderous, standing applause.

Little Mateo squealed in Luca’s arms, waving his tiny hands in pure celebration.

Diego pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against hers, their shared breath warm in the sunlit air.

“No more running, Mrs. Ramos,” he murmured against her smiling lips.

Nelia wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, looking into the bright future they had fought so hard to build together.

“No more running, Diego,” she replied with a radiant, triumphant smile.

“I am right where I belong.”
