Chapter 15 - A True Wedding

|
One year later, the grand ballroom of the Moretti mansion was once again filled with brilliant light and beautiful music.
Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, but the atmosphere was completely transformed from the cold arrogance of the past.
One hundred guests sat in elegant chairs, not bound by fear or forced alliances, but by genuine respect and celebration.
Luca Moretti stood at the end of the long floral aisle, looking more handsome and powerful than ever in a classic black tuxedo.
His dark eyes were fixed on the double doors at the rear of the hall, filled with an impatient, breathless anticipation.
The soft strains of a string quartet shifted into a radiant, triumphant melody, and the heavy doors opened wide.
Claire Bennett walked through the entrance, looking breathtakingly beautiful in a classic, long-sleeved lace wedding gown.
She held a simple bouquet of white roses, her radiant smile capturing the heart of every single person in the room.
Walking proudly beside her to give her away was Frank Moretti, standing tall and strong with a proud tear shining in his eye.
In the front row of honor sat Evelyn Carter, dressed in a gorgeous lavender silk gown tailored specifically for her frame.
Her hands were exposed for all to see, her burn scars completely unhidden, representing not shame, but the ultimate symbol of love.
Beside Evelyn stood Vanessa, her hair styled simply and her eyes shining with immense love and admiration for her new family.
Frank placed Claire’s hand into Luca’s waiting grip, nodding with profound, paternal blessing before taking his seat beside Evelyn.
Luca looked down at his bride, his fingers tightening gently around hers as if he would never let her go.
"You took care of my family when we were broken, Claire," Luca whispered, his voice heard clearly by everyone in the room.
"Now, I vow to spend every breath in my body protecting, loving, and honoring you as my wife."
Claire looked up at him, her eyes shining with joyful tears as she spoke her vows from the bottom of her heart.
"You showed me that true strength is found in loyalty, honor, and protecting the vulnerable, Luca," Claire replied softly.
"I promise to walk beside you through every shadow and every light, forever."
The priest concluded the ceremony with a solemn, joyful blessing: "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Luca pulled Claire into his arms, kissing his new bride with a fierce, tender passion as the entire room erupted into applause.
Frank reached over and grasped Evelyn’s scarred hand tightly in his own, leaning in to kiss his true love’s weathered cheek.
